Are you thinking about learning to ride?
Are your children keen to have a go?
Then we're just what you're looking for!
We cater for all abilities and teach from 4 years old upwards (The child must also be in pre-school).
Beginners, novice riders and riders returning to the saddle are all welcome and we can help you gain confidence at your own speed and develop at your own pace.
All lessons must be booked prior to the date you wish to ride and all lessons are subject to avaliability but for your convenience it is possible to arrange a regular slot, weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
As of 1st April 2013 these will be the terms and conditions of riding at Ratcliffe Equestrian.
Hacks and lessons are the same price.
We decide if the weather conditions mean that the lesson/hacks need to be cancelled. If you decide to cancel due to the weather, but we are running lessons/hacks as normal, you will be charged 100% of your lesson/hack fee.
Mounting and dismounting is part of your lesson/hack, therefore mounting / dismounting is included within your allocated time slot.
You will be charged the price for the type of lesson that is provided (i.e. if you usually ride in a semi-private lesson, but 1 week have to ride on your own, you will be charged for a private lesson).
Payment - Unless by prior arrangement with Karen, all lessons must be paid for in full at the time the lesson is given. No payment = no lesson. Payment can be made by cash or cheque.
Cancellation Policy -
If you cancel on the same day you will be charged 100% of your lesson/hack fee - NO MATTER WHAT THE REASON.
If you cancel 24 hrs before you will be charged 50% of your lesson/hack fee - NO MATTER WHAT THE REASON
NO SHOW - if you do not cancel and do not turn up, you will be charged 100% of your lesson/hack fee and your regular slot will no longer be guaranteed.
Appropriate clothing must be worn when riding, including a riding hat to current British safety standards.
Rider Weight Ristrictions
There have been a lot of studies done in recent times which show that there is a direct link between the weight of the rider and the well being of the horse. Evidence shows that this can range from the horse showing signs of lethargy and discomfort right through to specific injury (most commonly to the back and/or foot). The welfare of our horses is of paramount importance to us therefore, with immediate effect, each horse will be allocated a rider weight limit - this information will be on display in the office.
As of 1st May 2013 lesson / hack prices will increase - Children's lessons and hacks will increase by £1 and Adult lessons and hacks will increase by £2. A full price list can be found below:
